Comfortable but expensive
Pros: Comfortable beds, staff friendly, breakfast lovely
Cons: Our room included one queen bed and a sofa bed. We were charged an additional R1200 (£56) per night for our 8-year-old daughter to use the sofa bed. While I understand that hotels have overhead costs such as laundering linens and towels, as well as providing an extra breakfast, this amount feels excessive and unreasonable. Other properties in the area did not charge us for our daughter to stay in our room using existing beds. If two single people were to occupy this particular room (for example one person in the queen bed and one person on the sofa bed), this charge would not have applied, so I’m finding it hard to understand what the charge is for. I would have expected to pay a modest fee to cover breakfast, but given that the booking was non-refundable, we felt we had little choice but to either forfeit the full cost of the stay or accept the additional charge. Although a R200 (£9) per night discount was eventually offered, this still left us paying R1000 (£47) extra per night for our daughter, which we believe is not justified.

We would return!
Pros: Beautiful and tucked away, it felt like a real escape. Staff were all wonderful, and the suite was very cute!
Cons: The breakfast was not quite as good as the accommodation :) but the service was lovely.

We really had a nice stay. Ready for the week ahead
Pros: The air con and pool really help in the heat. The tranquility and views was amazing. Good breakfast. The fact that the TV had all the channels, was a bonus.
Cons: The bathroom. A lot of cracked tiles, and the shower needs a deep clean. (mildew)

Pros: 1) beautiful, peaceful location a few minutes from Franschhoek 2) nice garden (though could do with a little more attention) 3) very spacious suite with large balcony 4) TV with watchable channels including premiership football 5) Gideon bible 6) Espresso coffee machine and good biscuits 7) decent fruit salad and bread at breakfast
Cons: 1) the whole place could do with a lot of investment - very dated and tired 2) poor water pressure 3) breakfast offering was a bit limited

Comfortable. Great location.
Pros: Very quiet. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Nice pool.
Cons: WiFi did not work in the Mountain Suite room with a Mountain View. The staff tried to fix but there is something fundamentally wrong and I believe it was out of the staff’s control (management to sort). Other people staying in other rooms also complained about the WiFi. Mixer taps on bath and shower were either cold or boiling hot. Could not have a comfortable shower.

A lovely place to relax and enjoy both the town centre and the countryside.
Pros: Lovely grounds. Very spacious room. Lovely surroundings. It is best to have a car to visit around. Good choice of restaurants in town ( make sure you book ahead).
Cons: No diner facilities on site ( at least the two nights we stayed there).

Excellent, we will be back
Pros: Very friendly hosts. As returning guests we were lucky and got upgraded, but all rooms are nice. Breakfast is excellent with lots of fruit, cheese, yoghurt and of course all kinds of eggs. Thanks again. Nice large garden.
Cons: We knew it upfront and no problem for us, but Uber or car is required to go to town.
