Pros: Property had great facilities, however unfortunately we had issues with the bath not working no towels and incorrect bed layout They happily offered us compensation
Cons: Access to the hotel was not clear and explained very well. We had to wait for five minutes for somebody to open the gates

All in all a wonderful stay. It was only one night, but I would definitely come back.
Pros: You cannot get a better position in Franschhoek. You walk out of the hotel and you're on the main street with unlimited options for restaurants, coffee shops, stores and galleries. The staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. My trip was in winter, but looking at the fire place I am definitely wanting to return in winter. I can imagine the magic of a cold night with the fire on.
Cons: The stay really was really wonderful. Where the property could improve is in the small details. In the room there was paint peeling off in the bathroom ceiling, the freestanding bath mixer created a water mess on the floor next to the bath and there were two dirty towels that looked stained and tacky. But again, these were really small things.

Fantastic boutiqute hotel in the heart of Franschhoek.
Pros: Franschhoek Boutique Hotel exceeded my expectations. The property might look simple at first glance, but the rooms were really impressive - they looked better than the photos. The rooms were well-stocked with teas and coffees, and the bathroom had everything you needed. It's also probably one of the most conveniently placed hotels in Franschhoek, because it sits just behind a small shopping plaza with galleries and restaurants, and the supermarkets (including Checkers and Clicks) are right across the road. This is pretty much in the heart of Franschhoek and so many of the finest wine estates and restaurants are a short drive and even a short walk away.
Cons: The Wi-Fi wasn't great. For one, neither my wife nor I could consistently connect to it, and when we did, it was slower than relying on our mobile data. One other thing is that the honesty mini bar is one of the most expensive we've seen on our travels anywhere in the world. R70 (€3.50/$4.00/£3.15) for a small pack of sweets is RATHER EXPENSIVE considering the real world cost is around R13 (€0.65/$0.80/£0.60) making the price 5x more expensive, and a rather big markup. Double or twice the price, sure. But five times the price when there is a supermarket within steps didn't make a ton of sense.

Lovely rooms in very convenient location just off the main street
Pros: Great location just behind Franschhoek Square. We had a gorgeous room and lovely bathroom which could be opened up into the bedroom. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice with a continental selection and hot food to order.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Greta location, in the middle of town but still tugged away.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a bad smell from the ablution in the room which persisted throughout our stay.
