The best guest house we have ever stayed in

Pros: This has been the best guest house we have ever stayed in, the rooms are amazing and fabulously furnished with a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. They think of every little detail to ensure that you have the best experience. The bed is very comfortable and it was fabulous to also have a sofa to relax on when watching TV. Netflix is also provided too. The sunloungers are also very comfortable and there is plenty of shade too. The breakfast is excellent with cereals, fresh fruit salad, prunes, yogurt etc in addition to a cooked to order hot breakfast menu. You can also buy a bottle of wine there too. The staff are amazing and the manager was very friendly & helpful. Ideally located in a quiet residential area but only 200 metres from the town centre.

Central location, good breakfasts & cosy atmosphere

Pros: Maison Chablis is located just off the main street so it us central for shops & the Wine Terminal Kiosk. The terminal itself is only a 15 min walk. My room was comfortable & I loved the old-fashioned safe (which worked!) & large glass-sided shower. There was a wide choice for breakfast & fresh milk is delivered to your fridge every day. The manager's recommendations on places to walk to near town were spot on for views etc.

Cons: My room was accessed by an external spiral staircase which was fine for me but would not suit everyone's tastes/abilities.

Perfect stay full of French charm

Pros: Maison Chablis is an absolute gem in Franschhoek. The owner/hostess is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is simply amazing — full of classic French vibes and charm. The garden is beautiful and the pool is perfect for unwinding, with chickens casually walking around which adds such a unique and relaxed touch. The location is also ideal: it’s within easy walking distance of the town center, with plenty of top restaurants and wineries nearby, and it felt very safe to walk around. Overall, a perfect stay — highly recommended!

Wonderful guesthouse

Pros: Excellent location near to the Main Street and easy to walk to the wine tram station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was lovely and we loved the chickens that wander about the garden. Our room was great and very spacious.
