Peaceful, Pet-Friendly Farm Getaway

Pros: We had such a relaxing stay at Steenberg Cottages. The setting is peaceful, and it was a lovely surprise to have the farm animals wander up to the property. The hiking trail was beautiful and easy to enjoy, with plenty to see and do while still keeping rest and relaxation at the forefront. We had family with us, and it was a great space for everyone. Our dog also absolutely loved it, which made the stay even more special. We booked for two nights, but next time I would definitely choose three, as it’s the kind of place where you truly switch off and unwind completely. Highly recommended

Excellent stay for group of friends

Pros: Cottage is in a nature reserve and we got visits from springbok and zebras. Well sized cottage for a group of 6 people. Has all amenities

Cons: Pool is a far walk so we didn't use it

Family getaway

Pros: Lovely spot to relax. Used the hot tub as a splash pool instead in the December heat. Lots of wildlife right up against cottage, and also sufficient space in the 'yard' for our little pup. Owners were great and quick to respond on texts to sort out any issues.

Cons: Just a tad far from the communal swimming, so needed to drive there instead of walking. Could probably walk, but by the time you walk back you'll need a swim again.

Squeaky clean, homely & a great place to rest.

Pros: This is an amazing property that is squeaky clean with all amenities in great condition. The host added a few touches to welcome us that made check in super special.

Cons: This is a great cottage.

Pros: Connecting with nature, we loved the peace, silence, and natural beauty. The property was very spacious and homely, and we enjoyed seeing the animals so close and relaxed.

Cons: Small issues, like no net to clean/remove debris and inserts in the hot tub, the air fryer was left dirty probably from the previous occupants and the outside braai chimney light was faulty.

Perfect escape in the country with the most beautiful views from your hot tub

Pros: Loved the kol kol hot tub and the special touches like the wine and rusks left fr us upon arraival

Cons: Little bit difficult to navigate initially to teh house.

Peaceful place with a Mountain View and amazing Hottub

Pros: Well maintained. Spacious rooms. Small hot tub . Plenty of braai areas and utensils including a potjie pot. Enough wood at a good price

Cons: Unfortunately wood was wet and we could not get the inside braai area to stop smoking when making an indoor fire. Wood was wet. However Marianka got on it straight away and sent her team with drier wood and a gas lighter to start it. Cottage could do better with a close combustion wood burner.

Pros: Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful, tranquil scenery and the cottage was very comfortable with everything you need. Marianka and the staff were very helpful and ensured we enjoyed our stay. An extra bonus was the hot tub and that the doggies could also enjoy this time away with us!

Great getaway to nature

Pros: Peaceful in middle of valley with lovely Mountain View’s, lovely linen and comfy beds. Huge open fires. Amazing bird life.

Cons: Oven was basic and complicated to use but very little else

Very pleasant stay over the Easter weekend.

Pros: The location was great and the property was comfortable.

Cons: A little bit of more attention to detail would go a long way. Things like serviettes or kitchen paper for example or kitchen scissors would be nice. Making sure that the curtains slide on the rails so it's easy to close and open can be another example.
