Pros: Beautiful surroundings, new bathroom and kitchen area. Historic house and gardens

Cons: The tasting room hours seemed erratic and when I arrived for a tasting and platter, was told curtly by the staff member they were closing, nothing avaliable. This despite our host saying it would be open, we could even have an order brought to our room. Disappointing as it was our last day.

Pros: Beautiful old house 1833.in very peaceful surroundings..hike on the estate was lovely. Gardens and trees all neat and very pleasant.Would be really excellent if there was a restaurant on the estate since the shops are a long distance away and you have to drive on dirt roads to get there.

Cons: No shop or any rrstaurant or food on the estate

Pros: What a fantastic place we ended up at on our first night in South Africa. Imagine staying on a vineyard—everything felt safe, and the hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, and despite the peaceful atmosphere, the property is only a 30-minute drive from the airport. Our host met us on arrival, explained everything, and assisted us with anything we needed. Don’t forget to try the wine—and take some with you, it’s delicious.

Jewel Tucked away

Pros: I just loved absolutely everything about my stay, pity it was only one night. From the time I arrived I received the best care. My room was huge, with the most comfortable couch and the bed was amazing I slept like a baby. The unit was an old building with the bathroom renovated so really beautiful. The unit had everything I needed. Coffee on the terrace with the birds chirping was wonderful. Would recommend! Also lovely for anyone wanting to do wine tasting on your doorstep or hiking. Love love love

A must-visit 1806 jewel....

Pros: it was such a good idea to book Mooiplaas to stay at for the last night, before flying back home to Canada. Instead of staying in a character-less airport hotel we chose this location as the perfect ending for our South African adventure. This beautiful estate, located far from the road, hidden amongst the trees, a nearby meadow with cows and their newborn calfs. The peace and quiet trying to envision what it was like living here around 1806. Stepping into the estate's main room was like visiting our Oma (grandma) in Holland. Similar furniture, Delft Blue china and a bed built into the walls in one of the bedrooms. Our group of 7 had two huge bedrooms with more than enough space for everyone. As always, a pity we didn't have more time to add another night to stay. Our grandchildren (9/12 and 15 y.old) will not easily forget our stay at Mooiplaas.
