Pros: Set in a beautiful location. Allows you to relax away from people .

Wonderful location and well equipped cottage, would definitely return.

Pros: The location was just wonderful with beautiful views of the mountains and 3+ hectares of fynbos to explore on the farm. I loved it.

Delightful, well priced Franschhoek stay

Pros: A delightful cottage with stunning views of the Franschhoek Mountains, very close to Franschhoek town. The rustic cottage has an artistic flair but the real surprise was the incredible garden featuring sculptures. Dan’s and a large labarynth. The host was very responsive and helpful when the internet went down. Overall a wonderful stay in a beautiful apartment of the world.

Pros: The view of the mountains was exceptional from the stoop. The cottage was very close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. The host was always on hand by whatsapp if needed. The cottage was well equipped for self catering our breakfast and snacks. There was a big fridge.The bed was a large king size. Security was good with bars on windows and doors. The price was extremely reasonable for Franschhoek.

An unexpected heaven

Pros: It was peaceful, and relaxing with easy access to the village

Cons: In our opinion, there was nothing to dislike.

Perfect stay in harmony with nature

Pros: The apartment was nicely decorated by artist Andrea Desmond Smith, and located in a renovated building in her beautiful garden. We enjoyed staying there and loved to wander in the very large gardens.

The property is quirky and beautiful, garden was breathtaking with mountain backdrop. it’s amazing to read about the art

Pros: The garden was absolutely beautiful and learning about the artist Andrea Desmond Smith, you only appreciate the place and her work around it even more. The fire place was amazing. The facility was well stocked with kitchen equipment, heaters, electric blankets. The cottage is really clean and spacious.

Cons: The pillows were a bit flat. The property was very dark outside and had no lights in the garden or outside the cottage which can be very scary

Magical.

Pros: We loved the location. It was a very short drive to the centre of town, yet the property made us feel like we were in the countryside, surrounded by the most outstanding scenery. The gardens were absolutely delightful. A truly magical and incredibly relaxing experience!!!

Wonderful, stunning, peaceful place even more so when you love and understand art and nature :-)

Pros: The location of Akkedis cottage on the Artemis Estate is absolutely stunning. If you are looking for the most peaceful place in the Franschhoek valley to unwind from hectic city life, a weekend away from hustle and bustle or the end of an exhausting vacation trip through beautiful South Africa, this is where you have to stop and relax! The host was very attentive and responsive throughout the stay.

Cons: There is really nothing to complain about. Just one constructive criticism or suggestion would be to provide a more comfortable sitting choice inside or outside of the cottage. How wonderful it would be to sit outside in a comfy lounger and take in the ever changing, stunning view from high above Franschhoek into the valley. The cottage is situated on Uitkyk Street after all 😉

Pros: Akkedis is in a beautiful setting with extensive gardens to walk in and original art that helps to create a tranquil atmosphere. The views from the freshwater pool are stunning. Staff are friendly and informative, we had a wonderful 2 night stay
