Pros: We had a perfect stay from start to finish. The property itself was wonderful—comfortable, clean, and exactly what we were hoping for—but the real highlight was the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made the experience feel extra special. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely return.

Cons: I really liked how private the property felt—it was peaceful and relaxing, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen in the cottage was excellent and very well equipped, with great accessories that made cooking and settling in easy and comfortable.

Pros: good location, neaty and clean, with good facilities. Tamzin treats us well and check each need before we checked in.

Cons: too much lights from the roof windows around, might to be forced to wake up very early.

A true gem

Pros: Tamzin was THE most amazing host, very thoughtful, welcoming and made us feel right at home. This was a very special trip for us and she helped us with a great itinerary to enjoy the local area and Cape Town. Rachel and Charity were also so helpful and helped to make the stay enjoyable. There is parking available at the property The pictures of the cottage do not do it justice, it is even more than meets the eye. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely return

Pros: The cottage is perfect for 2 people. It is comfortable, stylish, very clean and has everything you could need. All the appliances and furnishings are top quality. Communication with the host is very good with a very friendly welcome. It is set in beautiful gardens and in a very safe and quiet location. There is good security and we felt very safe. 20 minute drive to the centre of Cape Town and very close to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. I can highly recommend Magnolia Cottage.

Cons: I think the hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need. Nothing to dislike.

Like a miniature home from home.

Pros: Brigitte sent clear instructions relating to parking allocation and met us at the guest entrance to the property to hand over the keys and show us to the cottage. The facilities were excellent and provided all we needed for an enjoyable week's stay in a superb location. Set in beautiful grounds, the cottage was serviced 6 days of the week by the lovely Twaya with bedding and towels changed regularly. There was a pool, with sun loungers, available for our use, together with outdoor seating and a bbq, if we had chosen to use it. Ample provision was made for any interruptions of power due to load shedding with tv, wifi and some lighting maintained by battery backup. The location is brilliant and just around the corner from Newlands Cricket Ground, with Palmyra Junction shopping centre just a short drive away. We would certainly be happy to stay at Magnolia Cottage for any return trips to Cape Town.

Cons: There was nothing about this property that we disliked, although the clear glass around the upstairs ensuite took a bit of getting used to!
