Great weekend with friends in a comfortable house and a wonderful location

Pros: We just spent the weekend at Yellow Cling Farmhouse (6-bedroom house) with our South African friends and their three (still young) children. We thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of the house and the incredibly beautiful surroundings. We completed three of the four walking trails (accompanied by a small very friendly and well-behaving dog that seems to belong to the farm). Surrounded by mountains

Pros: This place is such a gem! The cottage was well kept, clean and had everything you might need for a self-catering stay. The views across the farm and mountains are outstanding. The hiking routes are beautiful and accessible, but be sure to take enough water. The Farmer's Walk is somewhat challenging and in the summer sun, it feels a lot longer than it probably is. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cons: Nothing - it was perfect. Just wish the bass would bite, rather than swimming circles around our hooks. I guess they're used to better bait than what we had to offer.

A beautiful quiet stay on a working fruit farm, magnificent views and walking trails.

Pros: We had a terrific stay at Vredehoek, (Royal Gala) despite there having been a cable theft resulting in no power for our trip, our host Mally did everything in her power to ensure we had a comfortable stay as we chose not to cancel or change dates. The location is just what I had wanted, quite isolated and remote, so be sure to shop on the way in. The house is well equipped with everything you could need. I most enjoyed doing the walks around the farm and eating some of the ripe peaches. Mally provided us with some lovely suggestion of places to visit nearby. I would only add that having a little splash pool at the house would have made this stay even better, otherwise we had the most wonderful stay and would absolutely return. Thank you to our hosts

Nice views, big and spacious, beautiful sunsets and quiet.

Pros: The location was fantastic, very special. The mountains were beautiful and the view outstanding. The washing machine and dishwasher a plus point.

Amazing value for money and relaxing break

Pros: The location was incredible, you are surrounded by mountains. Mally was a friendly and helpful host. The facilities were great!

Pros: The house was spotless and with all the necessary kitchen equipment to make for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the marked hiking routes on the farm and went to nearby Bersig Winery for a tasting and lunch which was excellent. It was great for a large group.

Relaxing break into the mountains

Pros: Peaceful, well equipped unit, clean, great hot water pressure in the shower and basin. Small oven also worked so quickly to heat up food. Great to have 2 parkings

The place was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering both comfort and tranquility. One of the highlights of my stay was the warm and cozy winter evenings spent in front of the fireplace — a perfect way to relax and unwind. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even taking the time to check in on us to ensure everything was going well and that we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful, natural setting.
