Wondeful getaway for family with young kids

Pros: Everything about the accommodation was excellent — the property had everything one could need. There’s a communal pool nearby, a shop with a great variety of foods, and plenty of activities such as table tennis, pool, and tennis courts. The area felt safe, and a little further down there’s a fishing spot and a beach. I’d recommend going by car, as it’s a bit of a distance.

Cons: The tiny staircase ;). If you could ever remove the corner cupboard and washing machinen to another location and make the stairs a bit bigger.

Swallows Rest is a delightful, if temporarily unplugged, haven.

Pros: Our brief but delightful stay at Swallows Rest in Fisherhaven was a happy coincidence, as it turned out our friends' abode was practically next door – talk about convenient! The property itself was a real treat, offering ample room for our party of four adults and a very energetic toddler. While our visit was a fleeting one, lasting just a single night, we found ourselves already wishing for a cheeky extension to properly embrace the comfort and space Swallows Rest offered. It's certainly a place we'd wholeheartedly recommend to our nearest and dearest. Now, a little heads-up for fellow digital devotees: Swallows Rest offers a wonderful opportunity to truly switch off, as it's a Wi-Fi and television-free zone. Initially, we thought this might present a slight challenge, but in reality, it gifted us a surprisingly peaceful and relaxing evening. Sometimes, a little unplugging is just what the doctor ordered!

Cons: No wifi or TV at first, but we quickly came to appreciate being unplugged.

Pros: It is an absolute gem! Beautiful place, access to a swimming pool and lagoon and super safe! communication from the host was fantastic!

Pros: Modern decor and appliances, but very cozy. Walking distance to all amenities.

Cons: Staircase is quite narrow and steep, so not ideal for mobility challenged individuals.

Pros: It is a great secure location and the property has all the amenities for a comfortable stay

Perfect base to enjoy the Bot River lagoon mouth and Sandown Bay's beach!

Pros: Superb location, giving you access to an otherwise de facto restricted area only accessible with a looong hike. The unit is great, probably the best reno I've seen of a wooden cottage! Our only regret was not staying longer.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind. Just be aware that the stairs are steep/twisting, so bedroom access may not be elderly friendly.

Pros: Quiet and secluded in a vacation home complex, it is a perfect retreat. I had a very good rest and can only recommend it.

A very relaxing weekend for two swallows that needed rest!

Pros: This was the ideal location and 'home' for a very quiet and relaxing weekend! The house is beautifully decorated and contained everything we needed. We were lazing on the deck chairs (absorbing the surroundings - lovely to hear the birds and the sea), walked to the estuary (close by), drove to Onrus and so forth. A very short (but sweet) break! Thank you also to the host, who was very kind and who responded quickly when we had questions/needed assistance.
