Penguin's Nest

Pros: Such a cute cottage near the ocean and the pinguin colony. Very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay.

A Hidden Gem 💎

Pros: A hidden gem💎 The bedroom was spacious and really well furnished with lots of storage utilisation, comfortable bed and quiet location, very close to the beach. The dining/kitchen area was across the decking and the house felt very safe at night. Heidi was super - very friendly and helpful and gave us a great recommendation for food - Waaygat (superb fusion restaurant with excellent service) A lovely place to stay and certainly excellent value for money.

Pros: Lovely separate dining / lounge area. Bed very comfortable and everything you needed. Host Heide was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Penguins close. Would highly recommend.

Places to be ...

Pros: We received a very warm welcome from the most wonderful hosts. The room was small but very cozy and spotless, as was the bathroom. From the terrace we enjoyed a lovely view across the neighborhood, reaching all the way to the ocean. On the other side of the terrace, the Kitcheria offered an indoor braai, plenty of kitchen utensils, and thoughtful extras like instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, and rusks. We slept incredibly well with the sound of the waves in the background and woke up feeling refreshed. This was our very first stop after more than 20 hours of traveling from Berlin, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for our first two nights. The penguin colony and the beach are both just a 5–8 minute walk away. If we ever return to this region, we would absolutely love to stay at Penguins Nest again.

great view and unexpected surprise

Pros: Great view. and we didnt know about the African penguins. Yes Betty's Bay has penguins. It was such an unexpected for us.

Cons: We could get more towels. There is no sink or any water in the kitchen. But if you have something for breakfast then it is not such a big problem. We enjoyed

Pros: The place is on the ocean shore, you can hear the waves from the porch. The penguin colony is only a few minutes walk away. Lovely large window with a sea view and a great opportunity for stargazing. The room is smallish but new and clean. Lovely silky linens and wooden furniture which seems self-made. Nice hosts.

Cons: We only stayed for two nights so this wasn't much of a problem but note that the room and bathroom aren't spacey at all. The breakfast area is on the other side of the porch. The description says continental breakfast but this means a teapot, instant coffee and (tasty!) rusks. Note also that the restaurants nearby close early (impossible to find an open one past nine in the evening).

Pros: We loved the friendly welcome, the comfort of the room and the sea view from our room. The beach and the Stony Point Nature Reserve were within walking distance

Cons: the basin in the bathroom was a bit small

Pros: The property was clean, beautiful and exceeded our expectations.
