Pros: It was quiet at night and felt like a home away from home

Cons: the drive way is tricky up to the home but be besides that it’s a great stay

Pros: Lovely location. Owner was very kind and friendly and helpful.

Simple but perfectly adequate

Pros: Very peaceful, clean and comfy. It was just what we needed for our busy weekend. Our hosts were super helpful and friendly.

Cons: A bit hot in the rooms on a very hot day! The fans really helped!

Absolutely awesome.

Pros: It did not feel like you were in a city. The bird life was amazing.

Helderberg cottage

Pros: Shané gave us regular updates about the water issue in town, which affected the supply, but fortunately they could provide water from water storage tanks.

Cons: Access road was quite narrow, so would not recommend for a big vehicle.

We had an enjoyable time staying at Helderberg Cottage and we will be back if in that area again.

Pros: Shané met us when we arrived at the property and she was very friendly and helpful. She was a super host and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at her accommodation. Shané was very patient and friendly in her interactions with our granddaughter who loved feeding the rabbits and cats with Shané in the afternoons. We would gladly recommend Ruan and Shané's Helberberg Cottage accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in the Somerset West area.

Cons: We have no complaints. There was nothing that we did not enjoy and Shané was a great host. She was very helpful and accommodating and if we needed anything we just asked for it.

Pros: Ein wunderschönes Blockhaus.Wir waren alle beeindruck wie gut und pracktisch die 2 Schlafzimmer,Wohnzimmer, offene Küche,seperate Toilete,das Badezimmer mit Dusche,Waschmachine umgesetzt wurde.Die Perlhühner, Eulen,Kaninchen,Katze,konnte wir gut beobachten.Die Ruhige Lage,Die Natur drum herum .Die Ausstattung,man hatte alles.BBQ,alles da.Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Ein wunderschöner Ort um zu sich zu finden. Man kann das Auto auch am Eingandsbereich ,sicher stehen lassen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Cons: Die Auffahrt ist nicht für alle Autos geeignet. Wir sind Poolmenschen.Den gab es nicht. War auch okay,für die Tage.

Overall the value is great. This is ideal for a couple or small family who are willing to explore.

Pros: The help from the hosts was exceptional. Important information on local attractions, security and culture. Location is lovely as well as a perfect launching area to the popular tourist scenic areas (Cape Town abundance like Kirstenbosch etc), the wine route (incl. Franschoek-Grabouw drive) and even as far afield as Yzerfontein and the Swartland. This all while avoiding the congestion of a accommodation location in Cape Town or Stellenbosch.

Super cozy and comfortable with incredible hosts.

Pros: Beautiful setting and very comfortable cottage. The completely fitted out kitchen was a big bonus.

Pros: Comfortable , spacious and beautifully decorated swiss cottage with lots of books and a very friendly , helpful and caring host Shané. The peace and quiet of the place yet very central to the wine farms and Stellenbosch.
