Basco River Lodge Luxury Apartment

I had a wonder stay at Basco River Lodge. Highly reccomend. I will certainly be returning!

Pros: Great location. Central to the Elgin region which was the reason for my travel. The property was wonderfully kept. I felt safe and secluded at the same time.

Cons: The main bed could have been more comfortable. There were some damaged support planks.

Beautiful garden views and a fireplace to keep you warm during this cold winter.

Pros: Beautiful views of the garden. Lovely fireplace to keep us warm. Comfortable bed. Had privacy and felt safe. So nice that Gin and Tonic came to visit us. Will definitely visit again!

Grabouw Oasis

Pros: - Gin and Tonic the dogs were so friendly and cute - The kitchenette set up was great with the little dishwasher as well. - Fantastic shower - I loved the small touches like fresh proteas in the bathroom - The unit felt incredibly private and tucked away - Although we didn't have time, I would have loved to braai as the balcony and braai were so nice

Cons: - The fridge was a touch temperamental and ended up freezing some of our food - Shower drain was a little bit blocked - Towels were a bit small - We weren't aware of the two point plugs points everywhere in the unit but we made do

Fabulous little hide away.

Pros: Tastefully decorated and very clean. A freshly picked bunch of flowers was a lovely welcoming touch. The kitchen is small but well equipped. Perfect for a 2 night stay. The little dishwasher was a bonus. Firewood was supplied as a once off and also appreciated. The host was very quick to respond. And very attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing stay

Pros: The place itself is gorgeous and situated in a quiet and tranquil section surrounded by nature. The accommodation has everything you need for your getaway and conveniently situated close to stores and the elgin railway market.

Cons: The only thing missing was a swimming pool to cool off and bring the trip together as we traveled around the hottest time of the year!

Peaceful spot in Grabouw

Pros: Amazing spot close enough to Cape Town for a quick get away but far enough and special enough to feel like you’re really on holiday. Stayed 1 night with my partner whilst we did the Cape Canopy tour. It was very comfortable and the fire was magical in winter.

Cons: Dogs are a little intimidating but ultimately very friendly. Small leak at the base of the shower let water escape onto the bathroom floor.

Tolles Haus in der Natur, abseits vom Rummel

Pros: tolles Haus mit 2 Etagen + großer Terrasse, viel Platz, gute Betten, tolles Bad, Spülmaschne, Kamin, sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, schöner Garten. Restaurant-Tipp: Country Club (Mi-So) und am Wochenende Elgin Railway Market. Frisches Brot beim Orchard Farmstall.

Cons: Die Ausstattung der Küche war nicht ausreichend (zu wenig Töpfe und Küchenutensilien). Nachts Lärmbelästigung durch kläffende Hunde, morgens durch krähende Hähne und Ibisse (sehr laut !). Keine Restaurnats fußläufig erreichbar daher Mietwagen erforderlich.

We had a lovely stay. Neat and clean. Nice fireplace. Big shower. Big trees and very private.

Pros: The peace and quiet of the big garden. Nice and secluded. Braai facilities on porch and nice fireplace inside. Dishwasher.

Cons: It would be good if shelves were installed for a person's groceries, so that it is not needed to put them on the floor to use the table for eating there. Not all people like feather cushions, they go too flat.

Pros: The whole experience was lovely, had everything we needed, everything was neat and clean. Absolutely love the bathroom marble and wooden ceiling. Overall a fabulous experience, wished we had stayed longer

Cons: The only thing I could fault was that there was no freezer

Jederzeit wieder - absolut zu empfehlen!!!!

Pros: Super geräumiges Haus, ideal für uns da wir mit Mountainbikes angereist sind. Schöner Garten und unkomplizierte Schlüsselübergabe und tolle Privatsphäre. Wir wurden von den Besitzern immer informiert wenn schlechtes Wetter in Anmarsch war oder eine Sturmwarnung vorhergesagt wurde.
